If I have chance to learn Journalism and Communication in … University, I will concentrate on the study and research in this field. First, I will dive into the theoretical knowledge, constructing a solid base for my future work with the help of the supervisor and classmates. Because journalism is a discipline of practicality, I won’t miss any opportunity to do the relevant practices. By doing so, I can get something that cannot be acquired from the textbooks. In a word, I’m looking forward to making a solid foundation for future profession after three years’ study here. I believe after three years of learning, my dream will finally come true.

My parents have retired, brother and sister are working a long way from home, and I’ the only one living with my parents. And so, the Spring Festival is the only occasion of our family reunion, which is also the happiest time for us. I love them so much, so does them. It’s their love and support that have always been my strength to come here, and I hope in future I will be able to repay their kindness to me.

After graduating form a secondary normal school, I became a primary school teacher. Later, I changed my job and have been working in our local Educational Committee, during which I got my degree at junior college level by taking part in the Self-Study Examination. I leant a lot from my education career during the past ten years. However, I think that one will easily lag behind unless he keeps on learning.

I’ve engaged in the education course for almost ten years and I’m always devoted to it. So, my dream is to be a college teacher after graduation. I want to realize my dream and make myself to be a qualified teacher. I think the postgraduate study can enrich my knowledge and make me competent in my future job.

It’s hard to answer this question. Because there are many books I like very much, I just can’t say which one I like the most. Basically speaking, I like literary books, so , I like reading prose, poetry, novel, historical biography.

(What’s your favorite song? Which song are you like most?) “In That Remote Place”—the representative work of Wang Luobing, the renowned western composer. This is a love song, but I think it also expresses the perseverant pursuit for ideal and dream.

Famous American journalist Pulitzer once said:“If a country is a ship, then a journalist is one standing on the observatory and looking out. He must watch the passing ships, keep a watchful eye to any slight matter worth of attention. Just as he said, journalists are not only the reporters of social reforms, but also their explainers, in some cases even play the role of active participants. In modern society, news media has become an indispensable channel for people to absorb the spiritual pabulum. This is the very reason I chose this major—I want to be a watcher of times, thus provide people with the latest and objective news about changes of the world, and help people make the reasonable decisions.

Education and public media bear a common purpose. In other words, Education aims at imparting people book knowledge as well as culturing moral quality, which is also one of the main functions of news media. To some extent, we can say that the influences the news media exerts on people are more extensive in a more imperceptibly way.
